Eleven years ago, I was with Water For Life. Having 'my own' mission with buildings where I could minister in music and education was just a dream, but I shared the dream and ASAPH Teaching Ministry was born.
Not long ago, a brass band was just a dream as well. It's now a reality. Here are a few more dreams that may one day be reality. I share these ideas, and leave them in the hands of Almighty God. His will be done! A Band ShellWEC and I recently built a pickleball court on the piece of land beside ASAPH and in front of WEC's home. It is on land we acquired together.
My dream is to build a few tropical umbrellas (round sitting area covered with coconut branches) as well as a covered band shell to be used for evening concerts. The pickleball court would serve as a seating space for concert attendees. I have dreams of a church picnic kind of atmosphere with people selling food, people playing live music, and others having fun together. The band shell and smaller pavillions can serve as additional teaching space as well...taking pressure off of the ASAPH Teaching Center which is busy every afternoon from 3 to 5. A TRAVELING BAND
The ASAPH Brass Band is developing. Our concert program is attractive and powerful. We continue to share it locally, but dream of being able to move around the island of Haiti to share the program in places out of our reach currently. With funding for transportation and housing, we could travel to churches in communities where the music would reach new ears and the message would reach new hearts.
The ASAPH Brass Band...His music...His message...His glory. MINIATURE GOLFI grew up playing with my family. I was the youngest of six siblings. We played in the yard. We played in the house. We played miniature golf. We bowled.
It was all part of growing, and we did so much of it together. I think miniature golf is a great way for families to play together : parents, children, grandparents. Everyone can putt! I believe a homemade, cement, miniature golf course could be built in PBO for very little money. It would create a family-friendly activity. It could teach Biblical lessons with themed holes. AND, it might create a salary for the person in charge of it. It's a WIN WIN WIN situation. Contact me with your ideas. |
