ASAPH's GOLDEN ARK
PLOT and CHARACTERS:
Archie is a newspaper reporter from the 1960's. He is doing research for an article about arks, and his first interview is with Asaph who served God before the Ark of the Covenant during the reigns of King David and King Salomon. Asaph introduces Archie to the famous golden ark and shares several amazing, intriguing, and compelling Bible stories about it.
Noah appears on the scene in a jealous rage and confronts Asaph. He claims full rights to the word "ark", and a struggle ensues. Asaph and Noah feud over the ownership of the word "ark". The Narrator ends Act 1 with review of the situation and an invitation to hang around for part two. I have a notion that something's in motion.
As Act 2 opens, the tension between Asaph and Noah is still thick, and Archie can't even get them together for a photo. The Voice of God breaks in. He helps all three characters to see fingerprints of Himself in their lives. They begin to look beyond shadows to see what is real. Then, they learn to see shadows of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament stories, and even in both of the arks. That is amazing, intriguing, and compelling. And, it's for real!
Shadows are like faint echoes calling from the ancient past.
Pointing to a profound truth that was yet to come along.
Fingerprints, and marks, and clues. Fuzzy pictures, and previews.
Woven into history. Proof of God’s divinity!
