K.B. began playing trombone a few years ago. He was timid. His older siblings played in the ASAPH Brass Band. I had high hopes for K.B. because of the music that runs in his family.
K.B. did improve, and he began playing with the brass band, but we could hardly hear him. He was accurate, but the sound was small. Beginning in February, I began hearing sounds come from K.B.'s trombone that were brand new. He would hang around after a rehearsal and play from his heart. He got good at the higher notes, and they sounded quite nice! K.B. is the only tenor we have right now in the band. I am so glad that he has found his voice on the trombone. He also plays guitar. Here at ASAPH, we have had young men show promise before, but somewhere along the way many of them have drifted away from the church, away from ASAPH, and away from God. I see K.B. at church on Sundays. I see him at prayer services and at Bible study. His mother is a faithful member of the church. His older sisters are as well. As a high school student, I am sure the world is tugging at him. Pray for K.B. and so many other young people as they negotiate life in a difficult environment. God is God, no matter where you are!!!
