Holidays are music-filled. Easter is a great example. This year again the ASAPH Brass Band presented special Easter concerts. This time we traveled to Fondeneg and to Aquin. The band played great, and we were well received. I think we clearly communicated the message of the resurrection.
Our concerts we not well attended...considering the size of the towns where we played. We need to do a better job of publicity. We've begun working on that already. When we evaluated the actual cost of transportation and preparation, the concerts didn't put us into the black, as they say. BUT, they were successful musically, and in presenting our message. The band worked hard as another holiday season approached with extra rehearsals and much preparation. Christmas and Easter are special times for us. The members seem to be fine with spending those special days together playing music. It's a blessing to be with them on those occasions.
