This week, I had the pleasure of re-integrating myself into the community of Pasbwadom.
Sunday morning worship was a good way to start. The service had a theme, and the music opened the door for us to worship our amazing God. The message helped us to think about our lives as they appear to an almighty and good God. Sunday afternoon, I enjoyed the amazing beach. I walked with several young men, and by the end of our swim there were over a dozen of us. Kids played in the surf, smiled in the sun, and rolled in the sand. On Monday afternoon, I attended a Bible competition organized by Restoring Lives Ministries. Young people answered question after question from the Bible. It was impressive. The final part of the program was a race to see who could find a given Bible passage the quickest. The tension was amazing! A building full of people grew silent as the contestants turned pages. When the winner spoke a few correct words, celebrations erupted! People actually jumped from their seats...over a Bible verse! Early this week, Matthew talked to me about a Bible school program he attended (hosted by Restoring Lives) where he learned to make brooms from discarded soda bottles. He brought me a fine example. Trash turned into something useful is a win-win situation! I treasure my time here in this place. I feel blessed to be able to see fruit from things that began years and years ago. God is working. I am smiling.
